HOUSE COMMITTEE HEARS TESTIMONY ON INTERIOR-UTAH DEAL.
On June 28, 2004, the House Resources Committee held a hearing
in St. George, Utah, to discuss RS 2477 rights-of-way. Getting a
balanced understanding of the issue was not on the committee’s agenda:
nine of ten speakers invited to testify were local government
interests, the State of Utah, or their lawyers, all virulently opposed
to any limitations on rights-of-way on public lands.
